Ellen Woodruff leads the risk governance team within the Enterprise Risk Management organization at The Hartford. Ellen is responsible for enterprise risk reporting, enterprise risk management strategy and framework and risk research. Ellen joined The Hartford in May 2010 as vice president of portfolio strategy and ALM in the investment organization. Her responsibilities included leading the asset modeling team and interest rate risk reporting portfolio management for the Retirement Group and Group Benefits. Prior to joining The Hartford, Ellen worked in risk management at Fortis Financial Group and ING where she was responsible for economic capital, investment analysis, and asset liability management. Ellen holds a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in actuarial science from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
